  14. breakfast on Flickr.
I have had breakfast in this place on Royal Street about 4 times now. The first time I really enjoyed it (I had been sitting at the table by the doors in the picture) and the hope that I will have the same kind of pleasant experience has kept me going back the subsequent times.  Unfortunately, the quality has never been recaptured for me.  We had ‘Bloody Marys’ (which was all we were really looking for) but they were served in plastic cups (I do not like that!) and mine did not taste ‘fresh’.  Kathy doid not seem to be enjoying hers either and they were left undrunk by the time we left.  We both had a cooked breakfast also but these were uninspiring.  When we tried to customize our orders we were told ‘no substitutions’ which alwys irks me.  I don’t think I will be back.  I don’t even remember the name of the restaurant.

  15. We went to the French quarter last Friday evening with a view to attending the New Orleans version of ‘running with the Bulls’.  Here in New Orleans, coincident with the event in Pamplona, runners surge through a course that spans the CBD and the Canal Street end of the Quarter, chased and tormented by members of the local female roller derby club (the NOLA Bulls I think they are called), traveling on roller skates, wearing horned helmets and wielding plastic baseball bats.  I am glad we were spectators rather than participants because there were plenty of red and sore looking bums as a result!
We had stayed the night at the Iberville Suites on Iberville Street.  A very pleasant and reasonably priced place to spend what was a fairly spontaneous excursion for us.
